Composer Outreach and Headhunting
I was given the incredible opportunity to administer ANIMAL's composer outreach program. My responsibility was to find and onboard new talent for ANIMAL's network of freelance composers, as well as find potential new clients from advertising agencies. Some of the biggest campaigns ANIMAL has been a part of have contributions from producers I introduced to the company. Below are some of the highlights.
General Electric - "How the Future Works" Campaign
In the summer of 2022, ANIMAL was approached by the advertising agency Laundry Service to participate in this campaign for General Electric (GE). ANIMAL then reached out to their network of producers to create original tracks to pitch to the client, and one participant was UK composer James O'Connell—someone I had referred to the team during my internship. James's track was ultimately chosen for the final mix, and is one of the biggest placements that the company has gotten in the past few years.

This project was especially fun. ANIMAL needed singers that were experienced in an acapella setting for this Popeyes radio commercial, and reached out to me to be in charge of head-hunting. I wrote a casting description for the spot, and reached out to my network of singers in the Miami area who all had extensive experience with acapella groups. Over 20 people formally applied that were referred by me, and ultimately all 5 chosen singers were from this pool. Love that chicken from Popeyes.
Featured Composer - Elliot Harper
I highly suggested the team at ANIMAL Music work with Elliot Harper, a producer I work with closely. I also referred him for their summer internship program—and after contributing some original music for a few of the company's projects, Elliot became their production intern during the summer of 2023. He has since gotten multiple original placements on some of ANIMAL's biggest campaigns, including the two shown below. After the internship, Elliot continued to work with ANIMAL as a freelance composer and part-time assistant engineer for their artist residency program.

Recording Engineer - Sam Merkin
During their search for a new recording engineer in 2023, ANIMAL asked me to reach out to my network to find potential applicants. Two of my referrals were the final two candidates, and ultimately my friend Sam Merkin was chosen to be their new recording engineer. As of February 2024, Sam is finishing up his 7th month of working full time at the company.
